Is pride and prejudice a feminist novel essays

Is pride and prejudice a feminist novel essays A woman who fights for the rights and equality of woman with men though she had to live with inequality and injustice in her own life is a feminist. In this regard, Jane Austen, the author of pride and prejudice proves herself to be a clear feminist. To prove her feminity, Austen had used this novel of hers as a tool to portray her views on the unequal and unjust society of men where woman had always been sidelined, and she does this through the different aspects of the content in her novel regardless of what Austen witnessed in her own life. It is rather what she had experienced in her own life, Austen had tried to put forward and voice out. Therefore this essay shall focus on Austen as being a feminist writer. Some of the feminist issues both generally and those that are found in pride and prejudice... Jane Austen is without any doubt a feminist writer for she speaks highly about feminist issues by creating characters, incidents, story, theme and so on with internalized norms of feminity which are nowhere more prevalent than in pride and prejudice, but there is the fact that she lives with inequality and injustice in her own world (society). Though it does not normally hold truth that what an artist writes about may have actually happened in ones life, as writings are normally done for an audience or for readers and sometimes the works are written from an audience perspective, but in Austen case things seem to be realistic in her own life. The eighteenth century world in which Austen lived seems to us an uncomfortable society with a overemphasis on doing and saying the right and the proper things(course book: 1998:38-44). Here education was mainly for the males and only domestic chores were considered right for the woman. As from Austen own biography it is told that Austen brother s had good jobs, (two as naval officers and one as admiral) which proves that they must have had good education for such jobs. However it is n...

Literature review on the other hand refers to a given body of secondary text of an existing document. These documents can either be published or unpublished documents meant to review important points of knowledge needed to carry out comprehensive findings to a given research topic. It gives an general idea of both theory and methodology of a specific research topic (Hart 2001). Discussion Documentary research process employs the use of conceptualizing methods in document review and use. It involves the use of ether qualitative or quantitative research analysis skills, or it may sometimes employ the use of both techniques to study a specific research topic. Documentary research process in research academic work helps to support the researchers referencing skills. The information used in documentary research can be either primary or secondary, and involves the use of external sources to defend the debate of a given research academic work. Payne (2004, pg. 222) defines the documentary research as a research technique used to group, explore, deduce and find out the weaknesses of physical sources, frequently written materials both in private and public sectors (Payne 2004, pg. 222). To achieve a good documentary research paper, there should be a clear structure of ideas relating to the to pic of study with the proper use of key words to ease the search. Documentary research comes prior to the literature review and hence, proper time management is a priority in carrying out this study. Literature review, on the other hand, usually comes after a research proposal and its deliverables. It involves the analysis of originally obtained information to review the acquired information and the significance of this information to the research topic. It achieves the purpose of updating the reader with the current reviews on a particular research topic and builds groundwork for future research studies in the same research area.Advertising Looking for assessment on education? Literature review involves critique argument in that i t debates for or against the research topic. This argument helps to confirm or rule out arguments improving the entire quality of the study. It also highlights vital issues of past literature and how the literature relates with the current topic of study. The writing must involve the use of a logical flow of ideas, updated references relevant to the research topic and a consistent use of reference style. Conclusion In concluding, the fundamental requirement when writing either a documentary research or a literature review is the quality and relevance of the paper in connection to the research topic. These research approaches needs a keen consideration of research standards when carrying out a research on a particular research topic. It is necessary when carrying out research to be aware that, there are many unrecognized sources of information in the web. These unrecognized sources of information pose a great danger in both documentary research and literature review writing. The rele vance and value of these web documents must pass through a proper assessment before applying them in writing documentary research or literature review. The assessment can undergo four basic factors such as authenticity, material representativeness, paper credibility and meaning. References Grix, J. (2001). Demystifying Postgraduate Research, 3rd ed. Should people be allowed to keep pitbulls Research Paper

Should people be allowed to keep pitbulls - Research Paper Example According to some sources, it is believed that â€Å"currently the breed of choice for dog fighters, pit bulls are forced to fight, they do not choose to fight.† (Aavenge.com) Even Christine Hibbard, CTC, CPDT, reported once that â€Å"No, we do not believe that Pit Bulls are inherently dangerous.† (Companionanimalsolutions.com) There are many reasons of as to why people should be allowed to keep Pit Bulls and there should not be any ban enforced in keeping them as it will not benefit the safety of the society. Firstly, as it is known that this particular breed of dog has a bad reputation because of being aggressive and violent. It totally depends on the owner as how he trains and keeps them. It will be very biased to ban them only on the type of dog. Secondly, the Pit Bulls do not require much grooming as â€Å"Their short coat is very low maintenance and they can be bathed in very little time, not that they need to be bathed often.† (Petfinder) â€Å"Pit Bulls are wonderful animals that deserve a chance to have a good life like any other dog.† (Villalobos Rescue Center) There are reports that more people have faced death by the domestic rats than Pit Bulls. It is a myth that people say Pit Bulls attack more towards the people than any other breed of dog. However, Pit Bulls do not have the strongest of jaws; it is considered as the weakest among all breeds. What makes Pit Bulls as one of the most popular and demanding type of breed is that they are very loyal to their owners. It is said that the man has made a friend for life when he buys and owns a Pit Bull. There is a same response from the dog as well as they love their owners and they do not discriminate between the mankind. But, one of the best reasons, in my opinion is that Pit Bulls do smile provides a metal boost and confidence to their owners. If the owner of Pit
